Goodness is….Sweet Cravings
by goodnessis

I have a sweet tooth! And to have some control over it I made a deal with myself that I only make my own biscuits and cakes to satisfy it. And this was the result of my sweet craving yesterday.
Anzac Biscuits of sorts…
at least they were until I changed a few things.
This was the first time that I added the seeds to this recipe. Nice addition, don’t you think? The original recipe had a lot more sugar which I reduced and it also used golden syrup instead of molasses. The golden syrup always left a funny after-taste and the molasses is a much healthier option, or lately I have been using half molasses and half golden syrup.
Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
125g butter
4 big full dessertspoons of molasses/golden syrup
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup white flour (I use adama’s organic sifted wheat flour)
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup dessicated coconut
1/4 cup each of sesame seeds, walnut’s (finely chopped) and sunflower seeds
a little water
Melt butter and molasses/golden syrup on the stove. Mix all the dry ingredients together. Add the melted butter mixture. Combine with the dry ingredients. Form into small balls. (if the mixture is too crumbly and difficult to form into balls add a little water until right consistency is found.) Press down with a fork to flatten. Bake until golden, approx. 15 mins.
